obsolete words--whaaaaat?

One of the things my sister and niece got me for Christmas was a calendar of "forgotten English", each day's sheet having a word or occasionally phrase that's fallen out of use. A few I already knew, e.g. "Adam's ale" for water, but many I didn't.

Today's, though... ick. "Bungfunger", to startle or confuse.

"Don't jump out at me like that!" she shrieked. "You really bungfungered me!"

I'm sorry, that just sounds nasty.

P.S. Oh, wait, weren't they that group that sang that song from The Magic Christian? (No, they weren't, but it's sort of close...)

Hey! How about this example: "When I fill out income tax forms I feel utterly bungfungered."
