Fortunate Misfortunes

I'm sure the Democrats are happy that the Governor of South Carolina's infidelity has come to light... but by far the most fortunate misfortunes for them are the deaths of Farah Fawcett and Michael Jackson.

Were it not for that, there might be some chance of coverage of tomorrow's vote to rush through the Waxman-Markey bill, which includes cap-and-trade legislation, which will effectively be a huge tax on energy--again, so much for The One's promise not to raise taxes on families making under $250K/year. (Is it just me, or does Waxman look like the melting Nazi from Raiders of the Lost Ark?) Instead, even Fox News has turned into all Caligula of Pop, all the time.

Be sure to read the WSJ article which points out the CBO's playing fast and loose to make the burden look less than it really is.

P.S. This one is proving to be like the stimulus obscenity; hundreds of pages are being added at the last minute, and chances are almost nobody really knows what's in it. What was that about transparency, and bills being put up on the Web five days before they went up for a vote?
