Obama's "urban czar"

From the New York Daily News, via Instapundit:

The man who is President Obama’s newly minted urban czar pocketed thousands of dollars in campaign cash from city developers whose projects he approved or funded with taxpayers’ money, a Daily News probe found.

Bronx Borough President Adolfo Carrion often received contributions just before or after he sponsored money for projects or approved important zoning changes, records show.

Most donations were organized and well-timed.

I guess they can't all be tax cheats.

You say it how?

OK... I've looked up "harbinger" on, and it says it's pronounced /HARbinjer/. I admit I've never heard it pronounced, but that just seems wrong to me. The thought of it makes me want to stick my /finjerz/ in my ears and imagine listening to Holst's The Planets, maybe "Mars, the /brinjer/ of War". It seems wrong; isn't a /HARbinjer/ someone that consumes too many hars? (Is there ar verb "to harbing"?)

"I guess they all can't be tax cheats."

Or maybe they can. From an LA Times blog, under the title "Another Obama pick owes back taxes, but it's OK because, now caught, he'll pay up": "Ron Kirk, the former mayor of Dallas who would be the White House chief trade representative if confirmed, didn't pay taxes on some speaking fees he donated to his alma mater and he tried to write off the full $17,000 costs of his Dallas Mavericks season tickets."
