We're doing the Halloween version of the Renaissance fair photo booth gig, though this time we're not dressing people up. Much.
Dang, it's cold. The buildings are drafty and minimal, designed for use during the day in September, not late October nights. Still, it is kind of fun.
We have some music appropriate for the event that we play: Tocatta and Fugue in D minor, Night on Bald Mountain, some, though not as much as I'd like, of The Planets
, Oingo Boingo's "Dead Man's Party," some Dead Can Dance, Chopin's Funeral March, and a cheesy synth version of "Funeral March for a Marionette," though it's not clear how many people still remember its use for the theme music of Alfred Hitchcock's show.
I would like to put together some humorous songs, though--but to get the joke, you have to know what we have set up. In a corner of the room there's a helical stairacse, on which we have some skulls and a skeleton sitting back and relaxing. On the wall are some chains and dog collars standing in for cuffs that people can pose in for photos.
OK. I only have two songs for this purpose so far:
- the Beatles, "Chains"
- the Monkees, "What am I Doin' Hangin' Round?"
Any other ideas?
