Cone of Silence

Congratulations, all those who were sucked in by the Pew Charitable Trust's astroturf job and think that campaign reformincumbent protection was a good thing. The McCain-Feingold Act cone of silence is now in effect. Until the election, nobody can run an ad mentioning a candidate for federal office by name.

Those campaigning against pornography used to always make the case that the First Amendment was intended to protect political speech, and that pr0n isn't speech in that sense. Funny; now we have a law forbidding a certain sort of political speech... and the Supreme Court found said law constitutional. What's wrong with this picture?
