Just when you think they couldn't go any lower...

The "New London Development Corporation," which carried out the condemnation of people's houses in order to give them to a private organization to serve the "public good" of generating more tax revenue, and that gave rise to the case Kelo vs. City of New London that was catastrophically decided recently by the Supreme Court, has sunk even further. They've sent letters to the homeowners who tried to keep their homes stating that said homeowners owe the city back rent starting from the time that they refused to sell (in 2000)--and that if they were renting out the houses, then the city should be paid all the rent that their tenants paid since 2000.
