Ambiguous advertising copy

Just now on TV: "You wouldn't buy fruit with sugar..."

"Well, no; I'd probably use money," I thought to myself.

Some years back, in an issue of People magazine, on page one of a two-page ad: "You wouldn't use period medicine for a headache..."

"I don't know... just because it's old doesn't mean it doesn't work," I thought to myself, until I turned the page and saw what they were advertising.

Oh. Never mind.

Maybe I've been in the SCA and going to renaissance fairs for longer than I realize.
